Thalía, the 21-year-old Cuban who was in a relationship with the supporting singer Velito El Bufón, is not one for half-measures. The young woman shared a photo in lingerie on her Instagram stories alongside her boyfriend, the music producer Dany Herrera, and the message was loud and clear: she is happy, she is in love, and she has no qualms about showing it.
The image is a mirror selfie taken in a room with a bed featuring white and gray linens, light blue curtains, and tiled flooring. Both have visible tattoos, sharing a conspiratorial demeanor, with no filters or apologies. Exactly what their followers had been waiting for weeks.
And indeed, Thalía didn't take long to turn the page. A few days ago, she publicly confirmed her relationship with Dany Herrera with a series of romantic photos in an infinity pool with stunning views.
That post gathered over 12,500 likes and 649 comments in just a few hours. Dany Herrera, a Cuban musician and producer with a few thousand followers on Instagram, went from being an unknown name to becoming the star of this summer's drama.
Interestingly, Thalía had promised discretion. On June 22, when she reacted to the leak of an intimate video, she was clear: "I am rebuilding my life with a wonderful person, and when I am ready, I will make it public." And a week earlier, on June 15, she had already dropped a hint with her appearance in a bikini: "Sometimes I feel the urge to share how happy I am, but it's better if I keep it to myself."
The timing of the photo is not coincidental. Last week, Velito released a preview of "La mujer del Género" alongside El Chulo, with the phrase "we're moving to Madrid, since we like Spanish women," a pretty obvious nod to his Spanish girlfriend Paula Martínez. The media back-and-forth between the two exes has been ongoing for months: he flaunting his European romance, she building her new life with elegance, and now, with quite a bit less clothing.
The drama began in February, when Velito left Cuba just three days after the birth of his son Thiago for his European tour, where he appeared with Paula Martínez. To top it off, he made their relationship official on April 13, the same day as Thalía's 21st birthday, which sparked a wave of criticism on social media.
As the account @raggamorffa summed up with a phrase that many agreed with: "It has been a long time since a couple in the entertainment industry provided as much content as Velito and Thalía." And with the photo from this Wednesday, the latest chapter has just been written.
