The distance between Cuba and Spain does not diminish the romance of Velito el Bufón and his girlfriend Paula Martínez. The couple experienced one of those bittersweet moments that only video calls can provide: she in Spain, he in Havana, and a small child smiling on the screen as if nothing were amiss.
It was Paula who first lit up the social media. The Spanish cabin crew member shared a screenshot of the video call in her Instagram stories with the message "I miss you all so much," directly mentioning @velito_el_bufon. The singer quickly reposted it with his reply: "My little one."
Paula's "you" did not go unnoticed: the plural pronoun in Peninsular Spanish makes it clear that her nostalgia is directed both at the singer and at the little boy appearing on the screen, the older of Velito's two children with his ex Thalía.
The moment arrives just a few days after the couple was together in Spain, where Velito completed part of his 2026 European tour. Now, with the singer back in Cuba, the mobile screen becomes the bridge between them.
The relationship between Velito and Paula was officially announced on April 13, 2026 and has since become one of the most followed stories in Cuban entertainment. The first rumors surfaced in March when they were spotted together in Spain. In May, the singer introduced her in Havana as "my wife," and in June they enjoyed a yacht ride around the Canary Islands that went viral.
The singer has also dedicated music to her. In “The Woman of the Genre” featuring El Chulo, he leaves the following phrase: “we moved to Madrid, because we love Spanish women,” a nod that no one interpreted as coincidence. On Instagram, Velito made it even clearer: “Spanish women are a divine thing.”
Meanwhile, his ex-partner Thalía, the mother of his children, also turned the page and introduced her new relationship with Cuban music producer Dany Herrera.
The temporary separation between Velito and Paula won't last long: the singer has concerts scheduled in Spain next week, pointing to a forthcoming reunion on Spanish soil...
