The official Instagram account of the Spanish Royal House posted a celebratory message this Tuesday following the qualification of the Spanish national team for the final of the 2026 World Cup, after defeating France in the semifinal held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

«Spain is in the final! You have shown once again why you are one of the great teams in the world. Now, with an entire country by your side, it’s time to fight for the title. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this journey. Go for it, @sefutbol!», wrote the Royal House on Instagram with the coat of arms of Spain and the hashtags #VamosEspaña, #CopaMundialFIFA, and #FIFAWorldCup.

The message summarizes the institutional support of the monarchy for a team that has completed an impeccable journey in the tournament, with victories over Austria (3-0), Portugal (1-0), and Belgium (2-1) before defeating the French in the semifinals.

Spain reached this stage after finishing first in Group H with seven points, not conceding any goals during the group stage, and eliminated opponents in order of increasing difficulty: Austria in the Round of 16, Portugal in the Round of 16 with a goal from Mikel Merino in the 90th minute, and Belgium in the quarter-finals with goals from Fabián Ruiz and Merino himself.

France, for its part, reached the semifinals after eliminating Morocco 2-0 in the quarterfinals with goals from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, but could not stop a Spain that appeared superior in the match in Dallas.

King Felipe VI was not present at the semifinal as he was presiding over the Princess of Girona Awards ceremony in Barcelona alongside Queen Letizia, but he had made it clear that he intended to return if the team reached the final.

The monarch had already shown his commitment to La Roja by traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico, to witness the match against Uruguay on June 27, going down to the locker room to encourage the players, and promising to return if Spain reached the final round of the tournament.

It was also Felipe VI who starred in the presentation video of the 26 selected players on May 25, with the phrase "When the National Team plays, we all play."

The team managed by Luis de la Fuente includes stars like Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Pedri, and Joan García, and presents a historic fact: eight players from FC Barcelona in the squad and none from Real Madrid, a first in Spain's 17 World Cup participations.

Spain will compete in the final on Sunday, July 19 in New Jersey against the winner of the match between Argentina and England, who faced each other this Wednesday in Atlanta.
