The Cuban singer Seidy La Niña had to stop the car she was traveling in and get out in the middle of the street after being recognized by her fans in Guanabacoa, a municipality in Havana, during her visit to the island after nearly seven years of absence.

The spontaneous encounter was captured in a video posted on her Instagram account where the artist wrote: "I went out to the street and had to get out of the car My people from GUANABACOA." The post garnered over 53,000 likes and more than 1,000 comments.

Fans from the neighborhood recognized her while she was driving and wanted to take photos and interact with her in the middle of the street, which forced the artist to stop her journey to attend to them.

The return of Seidy to Cuba, which occurred on Tuesday, July 14, was the first in nearly seven years and was filled with emotion from the very moment: upon stepping onto the island, the artist recorded a video in the street declaring, "After almost 7 years, I am in CUBA."

Born on July 4, 1994, in El Cotorro, Havana, Seidy emigrated to Miami with her mother around 1999, when she was about six years old, and has been living in the United States for over 25 years.

Despite that great distance, he always maintained a strong identity with his homeland. In August 2024, he summarized it with a phrase that became popular among his followers: “I left Cuba, but Cuba didn’t leave me”.

Known as the "Queen of Reparto" for her style that blends Cuban rhythms with urban music, the artist had publicly promised in May 2025 that she would return to sing in Cuba: "I’m going to sing in Cuba... I would love to go and sing to the people," she declared on the program Destino Tolk.

The episode in Guanabacoa illustrates the strong connection that Seidy La Niña has with the Cuban public on the island, even after years of absence and having developed her career entirely outside the country.

So far, it has not been officially confirmed whether his visit to Cuba will include live performances or concerts, something that his followers hope will be realized during or after this stay.
