This is how Seidy La Niña's difficult return to Cuba after almost seven years was: "Today my heart hurts."

The Cuban singer Seidy La Niña returned to Cuba this Tuesday for the first time in nearly seven years, as she announced herself in a video recorded on a street of the island and published on her social media.

"After almost 7 years, I am in CUBA," the artist declared in the clip, visibly emotional about reuniting with her homeland.

The artist felt the warmth of her grandmother, though she missed the presence of her grandfather, whom she longs for. "Today has been a very hard day for me. I feel a mix of sadness and happiness at the same time. I return to my homeland after so many years. My heart hurts today because every time I arrived for a visit, my grandfather would greet me at the door, and he's no longer here. I still have my grandmother and family alive, and as long as that’s the case, I will always come to see them," she remarked.

The return fulfills a wish that the singer had publicly expressed more than a year ago. In May 2025, during an appearance on the show Destino Tolk, Seidy had hinted at her plans: "I’m going to go sing in Cuba... I can’t provide too much information yet, but I would love to go sing to the people."

At that time, he spoke of eight years without performing on the island and mentioned that before traveling to Cuba, he would be undertaking a tour of Europe, with stops in Spain, Germany, and Italy.

Born on July 4, 1994, in El Cotorro, Havana, Seidy emigrated to Miami with her mother around 1999 when she was about six years old. Since then, she has built her artistic career in the United States, where she became a figure in the Cuban urban genre known as “The Queen of Reparto”.

Her connection to the island never completely faded. In August 2024, she wrote on Instagram a phrase that captured that sentiment: "I left Cuba, but Cuba never left me."

The return comes at a time of intense activity for the artist. In January 2026, she celebrated with tears of joy having purchased an apartment in cash after earning her first million dollars on OnlyFans, and last June, she traveled to Puerto Rico to record in the studio with Ñengo Flow and Casper Mágico.

Seidy's journey has also been marked by difficult moments. In 2014, she suffered a serious traffic accident that left her in a coma for a month and required six surgeries, a story that the artist herself has shared with her followers as part of her personal recovery process.

In May 2025, in addition to announcing her intention to return to Cuba, it was revealed that the singer was negotiating the sale of her music catalog for 20 million dollars, which generated significant buzz on social media.

The video released this Tuesday did not specify how long she will stay on the island or whether the trip will include live performances, something her fans have been hoping for since she promised it over a year ago.
