The death of Frank Armando, a young man closely associated with the world of Cuban reggaeton artist Ja Rulay, sparked a wave of sorrowful messages on social media this Sunday from family, friends, and figures in the urban movement in Cuba.
Although there is no official confirmation regarding the circumstances of the death so far, various social media posts indicate that he may have lost his life in a traffic accident.
The news began to circulate during the day on pages dedicated to urban music. The account Cogelosuavtv claimed that he was a producer and a member of Ja Rulay's team, while the portal Repa Chismes stated that he was the artist's stepfather. None of these versions have been officially confirmed.
Among the expressions of grief, one stood out published by a user identified as BR, who reminisced about the closeness he had with Frank Armando.
"I will never believe this news. It's hard for me to accept that you're no longer here. You were an incredible person to me and my family. You were always there for me, concerned about how I was doing, giving me advice and offering your support when I needed it. Those gestures are what I will never forget," he wrote.
In the same message, he also sent his condolences to the supporting actor: "Ja Rulay, my condolences, brother."
Another response came from Jonathan Okana, who described the loss as "a harsh blow for the urban genre and the cast in Cuba."
Frank Armando was originally from Old Havana, and numerous messages reflected his connection to that community.
Daudy Cuervo, who claimed to have known him since childhood, expressed: "We lost a fellow from Old Havana, Frank Armando, a good kid I’ve known since he was a child. Life is crazy. My heartfelt condolences to his mother and his little siblings, who are personal friends of mine."
The pain was also reflected in the posts of his family members.
Her cousin, Ma Ángeles Silveira Melgares, wrote: "The Silveira family is in mourning and inconsolable. My cousin, even though I didn't spend much time by your side, I will always remember you for your smile and good humor."
From Phoenix, Arizona, another cousin, Daniela Nany, said goodbye with a brief message: "Frank Armando, my beautiful cousin, rest in peace."
A year marked by losses in the distribution
The passing occurs in a year particularly painful for the Cuban urban movement.
On May 8th, Bolito El Efi passed away, a beloved figure from the community, due to a traffic accident in Havana. Just a few weeks later, the reggaeton artist El Dizzy was hit and killed in Miami Beach, at the age of 25.
According to figures from the National Road Safety Commission, presented in February 2026, traffic accidents caused 750 deaths and over 6,700 injuries in Cuba during 2025.
Until the close of this information, Ja Rulay had not made any public statement regarding the death of Frank Armando. The artist is also going through a new phase in his career, having announced this year the launch of his record label PHP (Peace, Humility, and Patience) and confirmed his departure from Planet Records.
