The Cuban comedian Alexis Valdés was involved in a violent public altercation with actress Zajaris Fernández on Sunday at a bar and restaurant in Miami during the final of the 2026 World Cup, as Zajaris herself recounted in a live Instagram session lasting over 31 minutes conducted early Monday morning.
According to Zajaris's account, it all began when Claudia Valdés, the comedian's partner, approached her to ask her to leave the area they were in: "I don't know, you could kindly leave the place where we are," she said, according to the actress.
Zajaris refused to leave, and then Alexis Valdés arrived, confronting her repeatedly—at least four times, according to her account—accusing her of speaking ill of his daughters and of being an ally of the communicator Alex Otaola: "You took Otaola's side and all that crap," he shot back at her.
In one of those encounters, Valdés hit her phone while she was trying to record him, breaking the screen and the rear camera, and he shoved her, which forced several people present to intervene physically to separate them: "People had to step in to separate him, to get him off me," the actress described.
Zajaris called the police, who arrived at the scene, took a report of the incident, and ordered the removal of Alexis Valdés and Claudia from the establishment.
There were no arrests because Zajaris requested it, despite her lawyer advising her to have the comedian detained.
The actress explained that the only real conflict that could exist between her and Valdés was an outstanding debt from years ago: "The only problem we might have is regarding a certain amount of money. Nothing more."
Regarding the accusations of being an ally of Otaola, Zajaris flatly rejected them: "I haven't spoken to Otaola in two years. And yet, I have not stopped supporting him in his ideals that relate to me."
Otaola himself confirmed the incident on Instagram and clarified that he and Zajaris have not communicated for two years, thereby refuting Valdés' claim of a supposed alliance between them.
The altercation occurred in front of numerous witnesses and in a venue with security cameras, a detail that Zajaris emphasized several times during his live broadcast.
The actress described Valdés's behavior as "abusive" and compared it to attitudes typical of the Cuban regime: "You displayed a Communist socialist, abusive attitude today; you broke my phone."
Despite the shock he described feeling, Zajaris assured that he remained calm throughout the entire episode and ended his broadcast with a powerful statement: "Down with the dictatorship and those who act like dictators. No matter which side they're on."
The conflict between Alexis Valdés and Otaola dates back to 2022, when the communicator accused him of paying miserable salaries to artists, and their mutual attacks have continued to this day.
This is not the first time that Zajaris has been involved in an incident of this kind: in May of this year, she accused the rapper Aldo of assaulting her in front of her home.
The police report of Sunday's incident will be available in approximately 14 days, around August 2nd.
