The Mega Millions grand prize reached $800 million after the drawing on Friday, July 25, did not record any winners, according to Telemundo Miami.
The next raffle will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at 11:00 p.m. ET. The accumulated jackpot, which was $743 million in Friday's drawing, has now increased to $800 million after 37 consecutive drawings without a winner.
Whoever prefers to receive the prize in a lump sum would get 344.2 million dollars before taxes, instead of the payment distributed over 29 years.
The numbers that nobody guessed on Friday were 2, 5, 42, 44, and 60, with Mega Ball 1.
The official lottery site places this prize among the top ten in the entire history of Mega Millions, which started in 1996. The all-time record for the game is $1.602 billion, won in Florida in August 2023.
It is worth noting that since April 2025, the price of a Mega Millions ticket increased from two to five dollars per play, a change designed to accumulate higher prizes in less time. The odds of hitting the jackpot are one in 290,472,336.
So far in 2026, only two Mega Millions jackpots have been claimed: $536 million in Illinois on March 10 and $60 million in Ohio on the 17th of that same month.
Powerball also has a substantial jackpot
The drawing on Saturday, July 26, also did not produce a jackpot winner, resulting in the prize rising to 633 million dollars for this Monday's July 27 drawing at 10:59 p.m. ET, with a cash option of 277.3 million before taxes.
The numbers from the Powerball drawing on Saturday were 3, 4, 24, 36, and 47, with Powerball 17. Although no one won the jackpot, six tickets each won a million dollars in Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.
A Powerball ticket costs two dollars per play, and the drawings take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Both lotteries are simultaneously accumulating prizes in the hundreds of millions of dollars, a coincidence that does not happen often and that sparks public interest across the country.
In December 2025, Powerball reached 1.817 billion dollars, the largest jackpot in its history, won in Arkansas.
