Fortune smiled once again in South Florida.

A resident of Hendry County became a multimillionaire after winning one of the jackpot prizes in the Lottery, thanks to a scratch-off ticket purchased at a gas station in Naples.

The Florida Lottery confirmed on its website that Agustín García Guerrero, a 58-year-old resident of LaBelle, claimed a prize of 5 million dollars from the popular instant game $5,000,000 CA$H MONEY.

The winner visited the lottery headquarters in Tallahassee on December 8, where they completed the official ticket validation process and formalized the prize claim.

García Guerrero chose to receive his award through a one-time payment option, an alternative that allows for immediate access to the funds. Following this choice, the amount disbursed was $3,053,000, before state and federal taxes.

This option is common among winners, as it offers greater financial flexibility and immediate access to capital.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Sunshine gas station, located at 17100 Tamiami Trail East, in Naples, Collier County.

As is customary in these cases, the establishment will receive a commission for the sale of the winning ticket, which not only serves as an incentive for the business but also typically increases visibility and customer traffic following the public announcement of the prize.

The prize corresponds to the $20 scratch-off game "$5,000,000 CA$H MONEY," one of the most popular in the Florida Lottery catalog.

This game offers four jackpots of over $5 million, has more than 7.3 million winning tickets, and distributes over $328 million in cash prizes.

The overall probability of winning is 1 in 2.93, a figure that is appealing to many players compared to other games of chance.

In addition, the raspaditos have become the main source of revenue for the Florida Lottery.

During the fiscal year 2024-2025, these games accounted for approximately 74% of the total ticket sales in the state.

Since its inception, they have awarded more than $66.9 billion in prizes, made approximately 2,350 people millionaires, and generated over $20 billion for the Educational Improvement Trust Fund, which finances school programs, scholarships, and enhancements to educational infrastructure in Florida.

The story of García Guerrero adds to that of thousands of winners whose lives are transformed by instant games.

In a context where millions of residents regularly participate in the lottery, this new jackpot once again highlights the economic and social impact of these draws, while also reminding us of the importance of promoting responsible gaming.

For the fortunate resident of LaBelle, a ticket purchased at a gas station in Naples marked a turning point, closing the year with an extraordinary boost of luck.
