"It wasn't what we wanted, but we accepted God's will": Daddy Yankee's daughter shares how her baby arrived

Jesaaelys Ayala, daughter of Daddy Yankee, posted an emotional vlog on her Instagram account in which she shared how the hours leading up to the birth of her first daughter, Eira Del Mar, unfolded. She entered the world on July 22 at 2:41 PM.

In the video, Jesaaelys shows how she experienced that preparation, during which she was accompanied by her mother, Mireddys González.

The labor was induced, as the young woman mentioned, and ultimately the doctors determined that a cesarean section was necessary. Her husband Carlos Olmo was by her side at all times, helping her throughout.

Jesaaelys received the news calmly and with faith. "It wasn't what we wanted, but once again we accept God's will, which is the most important thing," she said in the video.

In the post's description, the Puerto Rican influencer thanked her doctor and the medical team that attended to her. "I'm grateful to my doctor, who supported me throughout the process as well. We all wanted it to be a vaginal delivery, but the baby never descended no matter how hard we tried. We accepted God's will, and thanks to Him, our daughter is healthy," she wrote.

The journey to this moment was not easy. At 34 weeks of gestation, Jesaaelys was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, a liver condition that can pose risks to the baby, prompting doctors to induce labor at 37 weeks, even though she dreamed of a natural birth at 40 weeks. "I accepted God's will. What we want is for both the baby and the mother to be healthy," she had said then.

Eira Del Mar also carries a very special emotional weight: she is a "rainbow baby," a term of endearment for babies born after a gestational loss. The couple had lost a pregnancy in September 2025, just weeks before getting married on October 4 of that same year.

The announcement of the new pregnancy came on February 13, 2026, with a video recorded by the sea and the message "A little bit of you and a little bit of me. A promise from God."

With the arrival of Eira Del Mar, Daddy Yankee becomes a grandfather for the second time, as his son Jeremy is also a father. The singer, who retired from music in December 2023 to dedicate himself to his Christian faith, has not made any public statements regarding the pregnancy or the birth. It’s worth noting that after his divorce from Mireddys, the singer does not have a relationship with his daughter Jesaaelys.

“After waiting for so long, you are finally here with us. We love you, princess of our hearts. Thank you, God, for this blessing,” wrote Jesaaelys to announce the arrival of her daughter, in a post that gathered more than 179,000 likes in just a few hours.
