Daddy Yankee personally appeared at the collection center set up at the Estadio Hiram Bithorn in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to assist in receiving and organizing donations for Venezuelan families affected by the earthquakes on June 24, 2026.
The Puerto Rican artist launched the campaign "Puerto Rico x Venezuela" on June 28 through his social media, inviting his followers to join the initiative.
"Venezuela is not alone. Puerto Rico rises with love, passion, and solidarity for you," the singer declared in the call to action video posted on Instagram, which garnered more than a million reactions.
The event, organized in partnership with the Multinational Foundation, the Cangrejeros de Santurce, the Municipality of San Juan, and Hunger Corp, brought together over 20,000 people for a day of solidarity and music.
Among the collected items were bottled drinking water, non-perishable food, medications, first aid supplies, hygiene products, clothing, blankets, flashlights, and batteries, among other essential goods.
The earthquakes in Venezuela in 2026, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 centered in the state of Yaracuy, are considered the strongest recorded in the country since 1900 and have resulted in at least 2,295 confirmed deaths according to the Venezuelan government as of July 1, over 11,267 injured, and 12,841 affected individuals.
The UN reports estimates of up to 50,000 missing persons, while NASA calculated that nearly 58,870 buildings were damaged or destroyed, with La Guaira being the most devastated area.
As a direct result of the campaign, on July 1, Puerto Rico sent its first flight with 4.5 tons of humanitarian aid to Venezuela, transported on two aircraft from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.
The mission was led by Héctor Delgado and also involved other artists such as Bad Bunny and Tito El Bambino.
"Venezuela is a warrior, I bet on Venezuela. We will not leave them alone. Puerto Rico will not leave them alone," stated Daddy Yankee during the humanitarian event.
