Indirect? Yubrán Luna reacts to Imaray Ulloa and Fabián's breakup video with an unexpected parody

Just a few hours after Imaray Ulloa and Fabián Fontaine announced their separation after five years together, the Cuban actor and comedian Yubrán Luna—Imaray's ex-partner for seven years—posted a reel on Instagram that set social media ablaze with a question at the end: "Did I do the right thing or the wrong thing?".

The video, recorded alongside her artistic partner Rosa Vasconcelos, begins with the same solemn and dramatic tone as Imaray's breakup announcement: "Hello everyone, we have some bad news, so please tune in, I don't even know how I'm going to explain this to you, but anyway, I will keep it brief."

The "tragedy," however, turns out to be another: Rosa reveals that they owe 80% for a trip to the Dominican Republic, that Yubrán was unfairly dismissed, and that she needs him to find a night job so she can go on vacation peacefully.

The sketch doesn't hold back on juicy details: Rosa mentions that last year was "very difficult" for Yubrán because "he had to have surgery on a little bump he had on his butt," and the punchline comes when she promises that she's going to miss him a lot at the beach... and that she'll bring him a little bottle of mama juana as a gift.

The parody was immediately interpreted as a direct jab at Imaray's video, and the comments quickly confirmed this: "It's obviously a parody of yesterday's video from the other couple we all know" (35 likes); "A word to the wise is enough, those who got it, got who they are targeting" (25 likes).

Many followers confessed to having an initial scare: the comment with the most reactions on the video was "I thought they were going to break up too," with 435 likes, followed by "I don't know why but I thought it was a divorce," with 285 likes.

Others were more direct with their reading of the sketch: "Good satire for those who expose their private lives on social media to monetize it," wrote a user who received 17 likes.

The reel accumulated over 13,000 likes and 1,522 comments in less than a day, modest figures compared to the 123,000 likes of Imaray's video, but enough to become the hot topic of the moment within the Cuban showbiz scene in Miami.

Yubrán and Imaray were together from 2014 until August 2021 and co-starred in the popular show "Ni Luna Ni Miel." In January 2024, Yubrán himself publicly admitted that "I did not love her as I should have and that I did not rise to the level" of what Imaray deserved.

This is not the first time the comedian has subtly reacted to content related to his ex: in April 2026, he left a comment that many interpreted as a jab in response to a video by Imaray when he wrote, "The problem isn't ambition, the problem isn't being greedy and loving money; the problem is being only that..."

Rosa Vasconcelos, who stars in the sketch alongside Yubrán, is his regular artistic partner—not his romantic partner—and their dynamic of "she's the bossy one, he's the long-suffering one" is precisely the comedic hallmark that turned this parody into the perfect response to the week’s most calm and emotional announcement.
