Georgina Rodríguez breaks the silence on the criticism of her physique: "I love my curves."

Georgina Rodríguez took to social media this Tuesday to respond with strength and emotion to the comments circulating about her body after paparazzi photographed her in a bikini during her vacation in Mallorca. She did so through a lengthy post on her Instagram account that garnered hundreds of thousands of likes within a few hours.

The images, taken aboard a yacht off the coast of Mallorca, sparked the now-familiar summer ritual: part of the social media reacting with criticism of her figure, while another part came to her defense. Georgina decided not to remain silent.

“What’s curious is that this happens every summer. Every year my body becomes news again,” she wrote, before posing the questions that many women ask themselves but hesitate to voice: “Where is the standard? Who decides what the 'correct' body is? Do we really still believe that happiness has a size?”

In the post, the model and entrepreneur revealed an intimate conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo that begins with a vulnerable confession: "I'm worried that now they're calling me fat, because I make my living from my image."

Cristiano's response, which she transcribed verbatim, is priceless: “You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Gorgeous, with an amazing body, a mother, a good person, successful, and living life with love. What more do you want? It's normal for them to envy you.”

Georgina took the opportunity to dismantle one of the most widespread myths about women who take care of their bodies: that they do it due to aesthetic pressure. "I train because it makes me happy. Because I'm passionate about it. Because that hour in the gym is one of the best moments of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being. It's never been a struggle to lose weight; it's always been a way to take care of myself," she made clear.

But perhaps the most powerful paragraph of the post is the one she writes with her daughters in mind. A mother of six children—three of whom are girls—Georgina pointed out that what matters most to her in teaching them is "that a person's worth can never depend on their appearance or the opinions of strangers."

And what started as a response to the haters ended up becoming a statement of principles: "I love my curves. I love the freedom to live in the body I choose. In the body that supports me, that has allowed me to embrace, create life, fall down, and rise up again. A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in all its versions."

It is not the first time that Georgina faces this kind of scrutiny. On July 31, she had already shared a bikini photo that generated a lot of buzz, and just days before, she had sent out another message along the same lines: "Your body has never been the problem. Be kind to it." The pattern has repeated since 2022, when she was photographed under similar circumstances and received similar criticisms.

What changes this Tuesday is the depth of her response. Georgina did not just defend herself; she challenged the entire system that makes a woman—any woman—feel that she must justify how her body looks to strangers.

"My body will change, just like every woman's body changes. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I’m still alive," she wrote at the beginning of the post, establishing the tone for everything that followed from the very first line.
