The Cuban broadcaster Rolando Zaldivar spoke candidly about the moment he is going through and stated that, like many others, he has also seen his dreams shattered.
«We are on the boulevard of broken dreams. Why the boulevard of broken dreams? Because everyone, including myself, has had their dreams broken», he said during a conversation on the streets of Miami.
The statements were shared on Facebook this Tuesday by the community project Conducta Dade, which has been closely monitoring the situation of the well-known communicator for months and has attempted to support him amid his addiction issues and vulnerability.
Zaldivar explained that the expression "boulevard of broken dreams" referred to the song by Joaquín Sabina dedicated to Chavela Vargas, but he noted that he decided to bring it into the conversation because, as he said, it is related to what is experienced in the place where he was.
The announcer insisted that he does not seek conflicts with the people around him and left another reflection on the consequences of his own decisions: “It’s good to be clear about that because I go through life making friends. I really don’t harm people; the harm, as I've said before, I do to myself,” he acknowledged.
Additionally, he took the opportunity to address the comments and rumors that have been circulating about his personal situation.
"People say many things that are sometimes not true, but well, I am used to them commenting on things about me, related to me, for my whole life," he stated.
According to Zaldivar, being a well-known person has often led to the spread of versions about him that do not correspond to reality: "People are sometimes wrong, but well, I am a public figure and that’s why these things happen," he pointed out.
Among those comments, he mentioned versions suggesting that he had a falling out with Conducta Dade and that his relationship with those who have accompanied him in recent months had deteriorated.
"They stop me on the street and reference that I didn't come through with the Conducta project, that the relationships are not good, that the relationship between the godfather and me no longer exists. So, that's not true," he clarified.
Conducta Dade accompanied the video with a message in which he claimed to have found a different Zaldivar this time, and especially exhausted.
"Today we saw a different Rolando Zaldivar," the project began.
Its members explained that they spoke with him for quite a long time and that something particularly caught their attention: "He confessed to us that he is tired, very tired physically."
They added that both in his gaze and in his words and way of expressing himself, they perceived signs that "something is changing".
The project expressed hope that the communicator may be approaching a point where they decide to accept help again.
"We cannot know exactly when that moment will arrive, but we hope that Rolando is starting to hit rock bottom and that soon he will be the one to say: 'I need help,'" he noted.
Conducta Dade assured that they will be available if Zaldivar makes that decision, "without judging him, without pressuring him, and with an open hand to support him," and concluded their message expressing the hope that this moment is approaching more and more.
Hours earlier, news had emerged about the new sighting of Zaldivar on the streets of Miami.
The project members explained that they were able to meet with him again, and he joyfully welcomed the visit and agreed to sit down and chat for a long while.
The group also noted that it attempted to help him in every way possible and highlighted his marked physical exhaustion.
The situation of Zaldivar began to generate significant public concern in November 2025, after the broadcaster was arrested in Miami for petty theft and possession of cocaine.
At that time, it was reported that a bail of 150 dollars had been imposed.
The communicator publicly acknowledged in February that he was facing an addiction and admitted that he had been using substances for "approximately a year and a little bit."
In that conversation, he expressed his desire to change and stated: "Salvation is the only option we have left; after hitting rock bottom, all that remains is to rise again."
Zaldivar later enrolled in a rehabilitation program, but left the center in April.
Conducta Dade then explained that recovery processes are not linear and that "the first attempt is not always enough," although she reiterated that she would continue to support him in whatever way she could.
