The Cuban center fielder Andy Pagés had one of his best performances of the season on Monday, hitting three singles in four at-bats and helping the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Colorado Rockies 11-5, as reported by Pelota Cubana.
Pagés, who batted third in the lineup as center fielder, finished with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk in the win that put Los Angeles at a record of 75-51, leaders of the National League West Division.
With that performance, the player from Havana records 12 games in 2026 with at least three hits, a figure that ties him with Yandy Díaz and places him just one behind Yordan Álvarez, who leads this category among Cubans in Major League Baseball with 13.
His performance also raised his batting average to .274, resulting from 132 hits in 482 official at-bats, and brought him to 80 RBIs for the season, a milestone he had already surpassed in 2025.
That consistency in RBIs is one of the hallmarks of Pagés' season: it is the second consecutive time he has reached that figure, and his personal record of 86 RBIs established in 2025 is within reach with several games still to be played.
In terms of offensive power, the Cuban has accumulated 48 extra-base hits so far this season: 25 doubles, two triples, and 21 home runs, numbers that reinforce his profile as one of the most complete hitters in the National League.
The 2026 season of Pagés has been outstanding since the start. In April, he was the first MLB player to reach 20 RBIs in the season, and in May, he had a historic afternoon with three home runs and six RBIs against the Houston Astros.
In the defensive realm, Pagés also ranks among the best in his position: he leads with 17 Defensive Runs Saved and is closely contending for the Gold Glove in center field, where he is only 0.1 points behind the leader in the SABR defensive index.
To those achievements, he adds his first selection to the National League All-Star Game in 2026, a recognition that came after a first half of the season in which he remained among the top hitters in the league.
Pagés, born in Havana on December 8, 2000, signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2018 and made his MLB debut in April 2024. In just his third full season, he is already among the most valuable center fielders in MLB.
With the calendar still in motion and the Dodgers fighting for the best record in the National League, Pagés has the opportunity to surpass his 86 RBIs from 2025 and set a new personal high in the most representative category of offensive production.
