Rauw Alejandro might be experiencing the sweetest moment of his life, and it has nothing to do with music. According to journalist Álex Rodríguez on Univision's program ¡Siéntese quien pueda!, the Puerto Rican singer has reportedly become a father for the first time just a few days ago, along with a young fellow student from his home country, with whom he has reportedly been in a relationship for two years.
The news hit the Latin entertainment world like a bucket of cold water, especially because the 33-year-old artist had accomplished something almost impossible in the era of social media: keeping his love life completely off the media radar since his well-publicized breakup with Rosalía in 2023.
According to Rodríguez, the couple lives together in New York, where she continues her university studies —she is about to finish her degree— and has accompanied the singer to numerous professional engagements, always away from the cameras.
"Shortly after his relationship with Rosalía, Rauw Alejandro met a young student with whom he currently lives in New York. She accompanies him almost everywhere. They have been in a committed relationship for two years and, to be honest, they are quite lovely and quite discreet," explained the journalist during the program's broadcast.
The secrecy during the pregnancy was total. "They have handled the pregnancy with maximum discretion," Rodríguez assured, who also made it clear that the news was inevitable: "No one wanted this to leak, but, as is obvious, this was going to happen, and rather than have it told incorrectly, it's better to tell it right."
Regarding the mood of the performer of Todo de ti, the journalist left no room for doubt: "Rauw is happy, he's an amazing dad," and "he can't stop gushing over the baby."
The details of the birth remain a mystery. The exact date, the sex of the baby, and the name the couple may have chosen are still unknown. The identity of the mother has also not been revealed.
Rauw Alejandro has not commented. His last post on Instagram dates back to July 28, and neither he nor his team have issued any statement regarding the alleged paternity.
The news comes three years after his breakup with Rosalía, a separation that at the time generated a media storm with rumors of infidelity that both denied publicly. Since then, the singer had opted for complete discretion in his personal life while solidifying his career: in 2025 he released Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0, a project nominated for the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year.
Interestingly, before that breakup, Rauw had already openly expressed his desire to be a father: "I want a couple of children, whatever God gives me. Well, I'm not the one who will give birth to them. You have to understand that my wife has her contracts, she has her responsibilities too," he stated on the show Alofoke. It seems that this dream, at least in part, may have come true.
