The dollar and the euro remain unchanged throughout the day, but the MLC loses another four pesos

The dollar and the euro closed unchanged this Thursday in the Cuban informal market, while the Convertible Currency (MLC) lost four pesos compared to the opening of the day.

At the close, the dollar remained at 663 CUP and the euro at 750 CUP, exactly the same values with which they started the day. The MLC finished at 467 CUP, compared to the 471 CUP at the opening.

The stability of the dollar and the euro comes after the slight decline observed at the start of this Thursday, when both currencies were already below the levels of a week ago.

Compared to seven days ago, the dollar has fallen by 2.5 pesos (-0.4%), while the euro has lost 10 pesos (-1.3%). The MLC, on the other hand, remains 13 pesos above (+2.9%) its value from a week ago.

Exchange Rate Evolution

The 30-day comparison shows the dollar 5 pesos lower (-0.7%), the euro with a drop of 25 pesos (-3.2%), and the MLC practically stable, with a decrease of 2.5 pesos (-0.5%)

During the last 30 days, the dollar has fluctuated between a maximum of 675 CUP and a minimum of 663 CUP. The euro has varied between 790 and 750 CUP, while the MLC has recorded values between 529 and 413 CUP.

In the official rate of the Central Bank of Cuba for Segment III, applicable to the public, the dollar was set this Thursday at 633 CUP and the euro at 737 CUP. The MLC does not have an equivalent official rate.

Dollar (USD) — 1 USD = 663 CUP

  • 500 EUR = 375,000 CUP
