Days after losing the title of Miss Universe Cuba 2026, Daniela Reyes posted an Instagram story that says it all... and leaves much in the air. With a black and white photo, complete with a glitch effect, the model and influencer bid farewell to the pageant with elegance, gratitude, and a hint that ignited the social media: there were those who tried to stop her from the very beginning.
"The woman who began this journey in Miss Universe Cuba is not the same one writing these words today. Perhaps this dream did not end as we imagined, but it was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and challenging chapters of my life," wrote the candidate number 20 from Pinar del Río, who reached the final on August 20 in Cutler Bay, Miami, as one of the audience's favorites.
And there lies the detail that did not go unnoticed. Among all the messages of gratitude and faith, Daniela included a phrase that left her followers with more questions than answers: "I learned to maintain focus, determination, and faith, even when the noise tried to make me doubt and when there were those, from the very beginning, who did everything possible to prevent me from achieving my goal."

Who? What happened behind the scenes? Daniela didn't provide names or details, but the message was enough to spark speculation among her more than one million followers on Instagram.
The story comes days after her first public reaction after the final, which also generated a lot of buzz: photos posing in a gala dress, a luxury kitchen, and opened pizza boxes, with the phrase “I think I deserve it.” Ironic, self-affirming, and viral in a matter of hours.
Mia Dio was crowned by Lina Luaces, Miss Universe Cuba 2025, among 22 finalists selected from more than 100 candidates. The victory surprised a large part of the audience, who expected to see Daniela with the crown. Mia Dio arrives at the title with her own story: in 2025, she had already made it to the Top 5, although that year she competed with facial paralysis attributed to a poor botox application, which sparked considerable debate on social media.
But Daniela, true to her style, closed her story without grudges and with a call for unity. "Today we have a beautiful new queen, a woman deserving of this title, with whom we share the same desire as millions of Cubans... to see Cuba free," she wrote, before asking her followers to support Mia Dio on her journey to Miss Universe 2026, which will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
And the conclusion, with all the dignity in the world: "CUBA, thank you for making me feel like a QUEEN without the need for a crown."
