Cuban content creator Milenita shared on Instagram this Tuesday an emotional journey through the wooden house where she lived for her entire childhood and adolescence in the Cuban countryside, a humble dwelling that, as she wrote herself, was the subject of mockery for years: "The little house where I lived my entire childhood and for which I received so much bullying throughout my life."
The video, filmed with his mother —whom he affectionately calls "Mimi"— explores every corner of the home: the living room with the same three armchairs as always, the room that belonged to his grandfather and is now shared by the family’s dogs, the china cabinet, and the bathroom where they used to bathe with a small bucket of water.
Milenita's mother revealed in the clip the story of the construction: "This house was brought here on a cart. That's why water comes in from the front, because it was brought and set up. As best as my dad could."
It was Milenita's grandfather who built the house when he was young to live with his wife, and the family lived there from the time the creator was 13 years old until approximately 2018 or 2019, when they moved to a new house built next door.
One of the most touching moments in the video is the exchange between Milenita and her mother regarding a collection of empty cans that the woman carefully kept. The explanation was simple and revealing: she would give them to the neighborhood kids so they could sell them as raw materials and "buy little things."
Milenita also announced her plans for the housing: "We want to fix it, we want to repair all those boards. All those boards that are fallen, we want to replace them."
Graduated in Medicine in Cuba and currently a nursing student in the United States, the content creator ended her post with a direct invitation to her followers: "Tell me if you lived in a little house like this. Do you feel proud to have lived in a place like this?"
It is not the first time that the family wooden house has taken center stage. In April 2025, a video of her reunion with her mother in Cuba sparked controversy due to the contrast between the rented car and the precarious conditions of the home. Milenita then responded by saying that renting a car in Cuba is a logistical necessity, not a luxury, and clarified that her mother no longer lives in the wooden house but in the new one built next door.
In March 2026, a similar video of Milenita showcasing the same house also went viral and received widespread praise, solidifying the rustic house as a symbol of authenticity within her digital community.
