El Chacal went to the supermarket with his family and, with a jaba in hand, took the opportunity to settle the 50/50 debate in his own way: straightforwardly and with a lot of humor. His wife La Leidy recorded everything and uploaded it to the family TikTok account @los_chacalitos2, where the clip became an instant hit.

"This is not fifty-fifty; those of my generation pay the full bill," began the Cuban reggaeton artist, looking into the camera with the confidence of someone who has no doubt about it. "As your grandfather Ramón used to say," La Leidy added.

The singer also explained why he loves to be the one who does the grocery shopping: “That’s why I like to do the shopping when I’m asked. I feel proud knowing that I’m putting a meal on the table at home for my family, that’s how the old man taught me.”

And just to leave no room for doubt, he added his signature statement: "The man has to provide the house; this isn't 50/50."

La Leidy, who is clearly complicit in recording the scene, presents him to the camera as "the author of Raka Raka with the two blessings," a nod to his children Milán and París.

The video, lasting just a minute, gathered almost 149,000 views, over 19,600 likes, and 760 comments in just a few hours.

The followers responded with a mix of affection, complicity, and a resounding "amen." "The only thing a man shouldn't carry is the bag of food for his family," wrote one. Another chimed in without hesitation: "That's how I am; I pay for everything at my house: the food, the rent, the electricity, the water. No 50/50 here." And a third one, with a distinct Cuban accent, added: "Hey man, that's right. Our generation feels embarrassed if the girl pays for anything. Are you crazy? Not even in death!"

There was also room for personal recognition: "Those who knew him in his youth see him now and do not recognize him. He is an excellent father and husband."

The clip arrives amid a debate that has been ongoing for months among Cubans on TikTok regarding whether couples should split expenses equally or not, with various opinions and videos going viral week after week.

El Chacal celebrated his 40th birthday last February with his family; he then declared: “I have two wonderful children, I have health, I have a wife who guides me, cares for me, and looks after me.” He has turned the account @los_chacalitos2 into an authentic family content space that connects with thousands of Cubans both on and off the island.

And while the 50/50 debate continues to circulate on the internet, he has already made his position clear: the full amount. The backyard... that's another story.
