The Cuban Jhoanna Uranga won the crown of Miss Teen International 2026 after prevailing in the grand final held in Jaipur, India, where she competed against representatives from more than 30 countries.
Uranga took home the top title of the youth pageant after successfully navigating various rounds of competition, where the contestants were assessed based on their presentation, confidence, and performance, as reported by News9Live.
The victory marked the end of more than three years of preparation for the young Cuban, who did not hide her excitement after receiving the crown.
"I have been preparing for this for over three years," Uranga said, noting that the work, the classes, and all the effort made during that time had finally paid off.
The Cuban described her coronation as "one of my greatest dreams come true."
The international podium was completed by Chantel Boeren from Namibia as the first runner-up; Giuliana Ocariz from Paraguay as the second; Andrea Almestica from the United States as the third; and Darelys Nico from the United States Virgin Islands as the fourth runner-up.
Uranga succeeds the Spanish Lorena Ruiz Sánchez, winner of the 2025 edition.
The president of Miss Teen International, Nikhil Anand, congratulated the new queen and acknowledged that the jury's decision was difficult due to the high level of the participants. He explained that the representative of India was also very close to winning the crown.
The competition, aimed at young people aged 13 to 19, took place in India from August 22 to 30 and brought together contestants from different parts of the world.
Uranga's victory adds to other recent successes of young Cuban women in international competitions. In August 2025, Leah Reyes became the first Cuban to win Miss Teen Earth, in a contest also held in India.
In May of this year, Isabella Toledo won Miss Teen Global 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
Now, Jhoanna Uranga adds another international crown for Cuba after making a dream come true that she had been preparing for, as she mentioned, for more than three years.
