The Cuban informal market begins this Wednesday with moderate movements: the dollar remains at 678 pesos, unchanged from the previous day, while the euro rises to 770 pesos. The MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) is around 464 pesos.
The dollar has remained stable for several days, but still hovers at a high level. A week ago, it was valued at 668 pesos, marking an increase of 10 pesos, or approximately 1.5%. Compared to 30 days ago, when it was at 673 pesos, it has gained 5 pesos, or 0.7%.
The euro, for its part, is moving upward again. This Wednesday, it stands at 770 pesos, compared to 768 yesterday. In comparison to a week ago, when it was around 758 pesos, the source reports an increase of approximately 1.7%. However, compared to 30 days ago, it still shows a decline of 17 pesos, a difference of 2.2%.
The MLC starts around 464 pesos. Yesterday it was at 467, and a week ago it was at 471. In 30 days, it is 16 pesos below the 480 recorded at that time.
Exchange Rate Evolution
In the past month, the dollar has fluctuated between a minimum of 663 and a maximum of 678 pesos, so the current value coincides with the highest point of that range. The euro has ranged between 746 and 788 pesos, while the MLC has shown greater variation, between 408 and 529 pesos.
As a reference, the official exchange rate this Wednesday for the population, corresponding to Segment III of the Central Bank of Cuba, places the dollar at 638 pesos and the euro at 739 pesos. Both rates remain below the values observed in the informal market.
