Karol G starred in one of the most unexpected moments of her Traveling the Tropitour in El Paso, Texas, when she performed for the first time on the entire tour the song "My Ex Was Right," motivated by a fan's sign and with a warning that ignited social media: she probably wouldn't sing it again.
It all started when a young woman in the audience held up a sign that read: "My ex was wrong about everything, but please sing it to me." The Colombian artist read the sign from the stage and complied with the request, although with a clarification that didn’t go unnoticed: "Okay, honey, I’m going to sing it for you, but he was wrong."
After performing the song with her team, Karol G addressed the audience with a confession that many fans took as bad news: “This is the first time on the entire tour that we sing this song. It will probably be the first and the last, but we are going to sing it one more time.”
The moment takes on a special significance due to the sentimental background of the song. "My ex was right" was released in August 2023, and both the media and fans interpreted it as a reference to her breakup with Anuel AA and her then-new relationship with Feid: the lyrics ironically admit that the ex was right when he said she wouldn't find someone like him, but concludes that she did find someone better.
The problem is that that "someone better" is no longer around either. In January 2026, Karol G and Feid confirmed their breakup after nearly three years together. The artist herself acknowledged it months later in a session for Playboy, where she stated that "she had the courage to say she didn't want to be there anymore."
On social media, fans did not overlook the detail. "Anuel was wrong, Feid didn’t come out on top, he didn’t treat her better," wrote one user. Another comment, with over 100 replies, stated directly: "Fercho didn't surpass Anuel in anything."
The viral video, recorded by a concert attendee and shared on TikTok, quickly spread among the artist's followers and fueled the debate over whether the phrase "he was wrong" referred to Anuel, Feid, or both.
At the end of the song, Karol G dedicated some final words to the fan with the sign: "My queen, after seeing that sign, I sang that one because you wanted it. But I'm going to sing you another one that I'm going to dedicate to you, my friend."
The concert in El Paso was the 10th stop of the Tropitour, a tour that kicked off on July 24 in Chicago and is scheduled to extend until July 2027 with dates in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. The upcoming destinations include Boston, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Tampa, and Dallas.
