With Tekashi 6ix9ine weeks away from becoming a father for the third time, the Cuban singer Hallel Génesis posted a reel on her Instagram singing a snippet of a song that her followers quickly associated with the rapper, although she never mentioned him.
"Just in case you forgot," he wrote in the description of the video in which he appears singing some lines from the song "The best you ever had," which he premiered in 2025, during the height of the breakup with the rapper.
"The best thing you had is that you had me, and that is history / The best thing you bragged about was when I was your girlfriend / And now that you've lost me, I won't leave your memory", says the lyrics that many assumed were dedicated to Tekashi.
The complete lyrics go beyond the snippet of the reel and include verses with numerous hints: “You’re out of my life now, so get out of my stories / Now I’m looking better, much better off, babe without you / Don’t call me anymore, get off me.”
In the comments of Hallel's reel, references to the rapper and Cocodrilín, the alligator that became a symbol of their relationship when they started dating in late 2024, appeared immediately. Not all the messages were supportive: "Tekashi doesn't even remember her," wrote one user.
Tekashi confirmed in April of this year that his current girlfriend, the Cuban Aliday Alter, was expecting a baby. "She got pregnant while I was in jail," the rapper stated at that time.
In May, the couple celebrated a gender reveal in Miami with blue smoke and fireworks, confirming they are expecting a boy. The event sparked additional controversy because Tekashi stated that if it had been a girl, it would have been "an abortion," a comment that triggered a wave of criticism on social media and in international media.
Hallel reacted to the gender reveal with humor, wishing the best to her ex, but hinting at the baby's support and the "crocodile."
The Cuban artist has managed to keep her name in public conversation without directly naming the rapper, all while building her own musical career. However, some followers question whether this is all part of a calculated strategy to draw attention to her music and social media content.
