Family members and neighbors are desperately searching for Ramón Gresequi, a driver from Moa, Holguín, who has not been heard from since Wednesday morning, when he left his workplace driving a truck from the Mechanical Nickel Company (EMNI).
Gresequi was last seen around 11:00 in the morning when he left the company in a white Toyota, license plate BP 211 606, identified with the logo of EMNI, an entity belonging to the CUBANÍQUEL Business Group.
The alert began to circulate in Facebook groups from Moa and was later disseminated by the independent platform NiO Reporting a Crime.
According to testimonies shared by his acquaintances, the driver did not plan to make any trips outside the municipality and expected to return quickly to his post.
"He stepped out for just a moment to quickly turn around and continue fulfilling his usual tasks and responsibilities," explained Yakelin Leyva Silva in a post that was shared hundreds of times.
The woman emphasized that Gresequi is a devoted family man who, before leaving, said goodbye with a "see you soon."
"This man didn't go out to a party; he wasn't even drinking. He is a hardworking man, a family father, the head of a household who went out to work without his spare medication," he wrote.
The fact that he left without the medication he uses has heightened the concern of his loved ones. According to testimony, he usually didn't need to take it with him because he lives nearby and expected to be gone for just a short time.
Unconfirmed versions about his phone
Amid the search, reports have begun to circulate about what might have happened. According to a source cited by NiO Reportando Un Crimen, whose claims have not been independently verified, the authorities are said to have tracked Gresequi's phone, which reportedly registered locations first in Sagua de Tánamo and later in Frank País.
The platform warned, however, that it has not been able to independently verify that information nor confirm reports suggesting a possible kidnapping.
Therefore, so far it has been confirmed that the whereabouts of Gresequi and the truck he was driving are both unknown.
As the search continues, residents of Moa have joined a community search organized through social media.
"Everyone in the Auroras Park, let's start the search now, please help," wrote Grabiela Olivares in the Facebook group "Buying and Selling in Moa."
The mobilization again highlights the role of social media in the absence of an official alert system for missing persons in Cuba, where family members and loved ones often turn to Facebook and independent media to quickly disseminate photographs and information about those who do not return home.
Moa had already experienced a similar mobilization in December 2025, when two missing teenagers were found safe and sound after their search was widely shared on social media.
Ramón Gresequi's family is asking anyone who can provide information about his whereabouts or the white Toyota truck with license plate BP 211 606 to contact the numbers 53008077 and 63779938.
"The family is desperate and is asking for help to find him," stated NiO Reporting a Crime.
