A Cuban identified as @rachelperez2297 on TikTok turned her arrival in Cuba into a small collective celebration: she walked out of the airport singing, and those waiting outside joined in the chorus, in a video that went viral on the platform and garnered nearly 110,000 views.
In the clip, just over a minute long, the Cuban woman appears alongside a boy who was with her, both singing a song out loud as they exited the terminal.
The group of people waiting outside quickly joined in: the song turned into an impromptu choir in the middle of the airport, complete with group hugs and an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie that was captured for thousands of viewers.
The author herself described the moment with few words but deep emotion: "They wouldn’t understand the vibe."
The reaction on social media was mostly warm and enthusiastic. "What a great time," wrote one user; another commented, "I love the vibe"; and a third simply expressed, "Oh, how nice."
There were also those who anticipated possible criticisms and sent a direct message to the protagonist: "Many will criticize you; it's very important that you ignore them."
This type of scene has become common on TikTok, where many Cubans share videos of family reunions, in a context shaped by Cuban emigration and the prolonged separations of many families.
What sets @rachelperez2297's video apart is precisely the festive and musical tone of the moment: instead of tears or silent hugs, the protagonist chose to sing, and her loved ones joined in chorus.
It is not the first time that Cubans have turned an airport into a stage for spontaneous expressions. In September 2025, a group set up a casino wheel in the middle of a Cuban airport, and in February of that same year, passengers bound for the island formed another casino wheel at Madrid-Barajas during a flight delay.
The most recent reunions have also included scenes of great emotional intensity, such as that of a mother who fainted upon seeing her daughter after years of separation, or that of a young man who surprised his family in Cuba after seven years without seeing them.
The video from @rachelperez2297 has received 5,161 likes and 327 comments, numbers that reflect the reach and engagement generated by a scene characterized by its festive and spontaneous tone upon arrival.
