The Cuban influencer Cinthya Medrano García, known on social media as La Cintumbare, has been silent for several days and her Instagram account is no longer available, which has triggered a desperate search by her family.
Her sister Maura posted an urgent video on Instagram on Sunday, revealing that the family had not heard from Cinthya for two days. "We have been searching for her for two days and we don't know where she is. We are afraid that something may have happened to her," Maura stated in the clip, which garnered over 1200 reactions.
What worsens the situation is that La Cintumbare's phone appears to be active and the messages show as delivered, but there is no response. "Her phone shows as active, it indicates that the messages have been delivered, but she doesn't respond, doesn't say anything," her sister explained.
In addition to that silence, Maura noted that the influencer's Instagram profile had disappeared. "I just saw that her account doesn't exist; I don't know if she is, I don't know," she said in the video, unable to determine whether the account was deleted, suspended, or deactivated by Cinthya herself.
Both La Cintumbare's father and mother have joined the search. Maura made a direct appeal to anyone with information: "Please, if anyone knows where she might be, let me know personally so I can bring her back."
The situation occurs just one week after La Cintumbare found herself in a new controversy. On September 14, she published a video responding to criticism regarding her significant weight loss and claimed that she had lost weight of her own accord to "be fit." However, some users on social media speculated in the comments about a possible drug use. On the same day, Ja Rulay sent her a public message warning her: "You should seek help because little by little, this is going to destroy you."
A day later, according to a report by click-cuba.com, La Cintumbare reportedly admitted to using "piedra" —crack— and revealed that she purchased the substance in Cuba.
The influencer has been residing on the island since February 2025, when she was deported by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after failing to appear at a immigration hearing in October 2023, which resulted in a deportation order issued in absentia. She arrived in Cuba on a repatriation flight along with more than 100 deported Cubans and has since remained active on social media, frequently generating controversy.
This Monday, more than 48 hours after her sister's public appeal, the whereabouts of La Cintumbare remain unknown, and her Instagram account is still inaccessible.
