The President of the United States, Donald Trump, mocked the weight of a protester who was attacked by an attendee during a rally held in Youngstown, Ohio. The woman ended up being removed from the venue by police officers, while the man who assaulted her remained in the crowd.

The incident occurred during a political event at the Covelli Centre and was captured in footage broadcasted by Newsmax, according to the American media outlet Mediaite, which published a report by journalist Kathryn Wilkens along with a video of the altercation.

The protester was wearing a black t-shirt with the message «Release the Epstein Files», referring to the documents related to the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The protest momentarily interrupted Trump's speech, during which he was criticizing the Democratic Senate candidate from Ohio, Sherrod Brown.

The images show how an assistant physically confronts the woman, pushing her against the stands and striking her in the face. During the altercation, he also grabs her by the hair and attempts to slam her face onto the ground.

Several agents approached to intervene and separate those involved. Subsequently, the protester was taken out of the venue, while the man identified as the aggressor remained among the attendees and high-fived other members of the audience, according to Mediaite.

From the stage, Trump reacted to the incident by claiming that those interrupting his events were protesters paid by his political opponents, an accusation for which he provided no evidence.

He is a paid protester. They are all paid, the leader stated, before accusing them of receiving money from leftist sectors to harm the country.

While the police were removing the protestor, Trump made comments about her physical appearance, referring to her in the masculine form.

“He needs to go on a diet! He’s a fat guy. Well, well. He needs to go on a diet quickly. We all do too,” the president expressed to those present.

The president's intervention was accompanied by other derogatory comments. Trump stated that the expelled person would return to their mother's house and described the protesters as despicable individuals.

The episode was also mentioned by the newspaper The Independent, which documented several interruptions during the speech and the president's taunts directed at those who were protesting.

The event in Youngstown was part of the Republican campaign leading up to the legislative elections on November 3. Trump traveled to Ohio to support Republican Senator Jon Husted, who is running against Sherrod Brown, and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

The protests were not limited to the first altercation. During the same intervention, another person displayed a Palestinian flag and interrupted the president's speech, according to coverage by The Independent.
