A Cuban resident in Miami shared on TikTok the unpleasant experience he had at a Dior store in the Design District, where, according to his account, an employee prevented him from touching a handbag worth 40,000 dollars that he intended to buy. Upset by the treatment he received, he decided to travel to New York to purchase it.

The content creator Kevin Martínez, known on social media as @kevusho, explained that that day he woke up wanting to buy "the most expensive wallet in the store," but went to the shop dressed casually, not overly concerned about his appearance, as he lives only five minutes away from the place.

He shared that since he entered the boutique, he felt that the staff was ignoring him. "Everyone ignores me inside, no one pays attention to you, they don't even offer you a little water with the heat in Miami," he recounted.

The situation worsened when she found the handbag she was looking for and tried to pick it up to try it on. At that moment, an employee approached her and warned her: “Handbags cannot be touched”.

The Cuban's response was striking: "You didn't hit the Berlin Wall, you hit the Havana seawall."

"Hey man, how do you expect me to want a forty-thousand-dollar wallet if I can't even touch it? What kind of nonsense is this?" questioned Kevusho, who claimed that the seller ended up walking away after the exchange.

The content creator explained that that attitude made him reconsider where to spend his money. "At that moment, I thought: these people don’t deserve my money," he recalled.

Instead of making the purchase in Miami, she decided to go to a Dior store in New York, where, she claimed, she finally bought the handbag she wanted.

Kevusho believes that the employee treated him in that manner because of his appearance. "That person behaved that way towards me because of how I was dressed... I was ready to spend forty thousand dollars on the wallet, but I wasn't dressed expensively," he stated.

The Cuban also criticized the attitude that, in his opinion, some employees of luxury establishments have towards customers.

"Most people who work in a luxury store believe they are the owners of the store, darling. With a minimum wage and on top of that, you work on commission; they should be nicer to people," she expressed.

It is not the first time that a Cuban has shared an unpleasant experience in a luxury establishment in Miami. In July, Cuban content creator @klaubarbie reported the treatment received from a sales clerk at a jewelry store, in a video that garnered over 78,000 views.

Kevusho concluded his story with a message directed at the employee who, he believes, judged him by his appearance: “What happened is that you see you can’t judge a book by its cover. You missed out on the commission, buddy. I’m sorry.”
