The spokesperson for the party Vente Venezuela, Claudia Macero, confirmed this Monday that María Corina Machado is willing to sit down for dialogue with the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, within the framework of the political transition process the country is experiencing.

Macero made the announcement on the local radio station Unión Radio, a day after the surprising return of Machado to Venezuela after nearly ten months in exile, primarily in Panama and the United States.

"He expressed his willingness to sit down not only with Delcy (Rodríguez) but with anyone else necessary to address the country with complete transparency and a clear agenda for these matters to be resolved," declared Macero, according to AFP.

The spokesperson emphasized that the return of the opposition leader is not an isolated event, but part of "a transition process that requires all parties" and cannot do without her figure.

"There is no credible transition or election process without the strength and legitimacy of the people it represents," added Macero.

As of this Monday, no formal meeting had been scheduled between Machado and Rodríguez, nor had a bilateral agenda been agreed upon by both parties.

On Sunday, Machado traveled nearly 400 kilometers from Barquisimeto to Caracas and was greeted by thousands of supporters who gathered along the roads at various points along the route. Her first public appearance took place at the Santa Rosa church in Barquisimeto, where she confirmed her arrival with a brief message on social media: "I am here. With you."

The return occurred after at least seven failed attempts, which Machado attributed to air and sea blockades imposed by the interim government. The opposition leader herself had expressed from Panama her willingness to "talk to whoever needs to be talked to" once she set foot in Venezuela.

The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, described on Sunday the return of Machado as a "direct result" of the reconciliation process that Washington supports, and emphasized that this dialogue has already led to the release of hundreds of political prisoners and the return from exile of many opposition figures.

The negotiating process began with the capture of Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces on January 3, 2026. Following this event, Rodríguez took on the role of acting president, and a dialogue was initiated between the interim government and an opposing sector represented by Dinorah Figuera, the president of the National Assembly elected in 2015. The conversations, formalized at La Carlota Air Force Base last August, have made progress in renewing the Supreme Court of Justice and the National Electoral Council, but a date for presidential elections has not yet been established.

Machado does not formally participate in that table, although she has stated that she does not intend to block it. Her arrival in Caracas among the crowds reintroduces the most prominent opposition figure in terms of popular support to the Venezuelan political scene, just as a fourth round of negotiations is scheduled for November 2026.

The interim government of Rodríguez had not officially commented on the return of the opposition figure by the time this report was closed.
