The Cuban influencer Claudia Artiles posted on Instagram and TikTok a 13-second video dancing with her son Marlon to the rhythm of "Dame hombro," the viral track by Dominican singer Bulin 47 and Colombian freestyler Kevin Wai, and her followers’ reactions were immediate.
The clip surpassed 518,000 views, accumulated over 45,700 likes, and received nearly 1,800 comments in just a few hours, becoming one of the most celebrated moments on Artiles' account.
Marlon, the influencer's son, is three years old and has Down syndrome, and he is very beloved by the community that follows Artiles on social media.
In the brief clip, the chorus of the song can be heard —“give me shoulder chai, chai, chai, give me shoulder ma, chai, chai, chai, give me shoulder pa, chai, chai, chai”— while mother and son share the distinctive shoulder movement that has turned the song into a global phenomenon.
"Dame hombro" is the biggest musical viral sensation at the moment in the Spanish-speaking world. The song originated from a spontaneous improvisation between Bulin 47 and Kevin Wai on a sidewalk in Madrid in early October, and within a few weeks it reached millions of streams on various platforms.
Fans responded with an avalanche of sweet messages. "Marlito, we love you. Every time you appear in the videos with your mommy, you are adorable. How you love your momma! God bless you, Marlito, prince," wrote one user.
Another comment humorously and affectionately summarized the general sentiment: "She says 'give me a shoulder' and he says 'give me a hug'."
There were also those who highlighted the bond between them: "That childlike charm is fading. How charming, the way he moves his shoulders! He is very intelligent. And thanks to the mother he has. You are an incredible mother, I congratulate you for loving your child so much."
Artiles, based in Miami and with over 800,000 followers on Instagram, has documented every stage of Marlon's development since his birth, including the open-heart surgery that the child successfully underwent at six months old to correct a congenital heart defect.
Their platform has become a space for raising awareness about motherhood and the inclusion of people with Down syndrome. One follower simply stated in the comments section of Artiles' video: "There is nothing sweeter in this world than those children. God bless them."
