Living in Miami has its charms, but the traffic is definitely not one of them! A Cuban resident in the city resorted to sarcasm to describe one of the most frustrating situations of his daily life: leaving home with enough time to get to work and ending up stuck on the road for over an hour.
In a video shared on TikTok, the user @guzman8798 expressed his frustration while driving and explained, with a lot of irony, what he likes most about living in Miami.
"I live 20 minutes away from my job, literally 20 minutes according to the GPS. I left my house at 7, and it's now 8 and I still haven't arrived at work," the Cuban recounted, making it clear that distances in Miami can turn into a true nightmare during rush hour.
To accompany the post, she wrote a phrase that perfectly summed up her mood: "Gooooood morning, it's funny, but it's not."
And the thing is, although the protagonist approached the situation with humor, losing an hour on a journey that should only take about 20 minutes isn't very funny, especially when you need to arrive at work on time.
Traffic is precisely one of the most common complaints among those living in Miami. According to a report on the city's traffic congestion, based on TomTom data from 2025, Miami ranks among the metropolitan areas with the most significant circulation problems in the United States.
The experience of this Cuban is not the only one to have surfaced on social media. Other residents have shared their struggles to navigate roads like the Palmetto Expressway, where relatively short trips can take over an hour, especially during peak traffic times or when it rains.
For some, the problem has become one of the reasons to seek a life outside the city. This is the case of a Cuban who decided to move to Cape Coral after living 15 years in Miami, who described the city as a "disaster," citing traffic, work, and the high cost of living among the reasons for his decision.
The difficulties in navigating are compounded by complaints about the behavior of some drivers. A study released in February 2026 ranked Miami among the worst-rated cities in the United States for driver irritations and aggressive driving.
Meanwhile, the Cuban TikToker shared a scene that many drivers can relate to: waking up early, checking the GPS, calculating the time needed to get to work, and realizing that in Miami, those 20 minutes can easily turn into an hour or more.
