A Honduran woman known on TikTok as La Catracha Cubana has issued a humorous warning to all women considering falling in love with a Cuban man. According to her, to enter that world, one must be very well prepared because once you’re in, there’s no turning back!
In a video that has garnered over 61,200 views, the content creator gets straight to the point and shares her unique "tip of the day" for those looking to be in a relationship with a Cuban.
"If you're not prepared physically, emotionally, and mentally, don't go looking for a Cuban, it's not meant for you. I'm warning you," she assures with a lot of humor.
The Honduran woman insists that there are three essential requirements for surviving a relationship with a Cuban: mental health, physical health, and emotional health. But above all, she believes it is crucial to have character.
"To be with a Cuban, you need to have these three things: mental health, physical health, and emotional health, because they will drive you crazy, and you need to be strong-willed to handle their temperament," she explains.
However, the most amusing part comes when he compares entering the world of Cubans to being part of the mafia, a notion that elevates his warning to another level.
"If you've already entered that world, it's like stepping into the mafia: you never get out. I'm warning you," he says jokingly.
And, just in case anyone still has doubts, she insists: "If you've never been in a mafia, entering the world of Cubans is like entering the world of the mafia: you don't leave, it drives you crazy."
Her unique way of describing relationships with Cubans adds to other videos circulating on TikTok, where women of various nationalities share, through jokes and anecdotes, their romantic experiences with men from the island.
In fact, another viral post advised women who wanted to engage with Cubans, leading to comments about the specifics of these relationships.
In February 2024, a Honduran woman married to a Cuban shared her surprise upon discovering the reparto, a musical genre that she had been unaware of until then and which ultimately became part of her experience with the island's culture.
Also, a young Guatemalan woman shared the reasons why, according to her, it is worth falling in love with a Cuban, highlighting their affectionate nature, intensity, and sense of humor.
These conversations have also led to responses from the Cubans themselves. In September 2026, a Cuban came to the defense of the women on the island with a message that sparked numerous reactions on social media.
For its part, La Catracha Cubana makes it clear that its warning is very serious, even if it's framed as a joke, and ends its video with a final message for those who decide to take a chance on love with a Cuban:
"Then don't say there was no one to advise you."
