A Cuban in the United States has sparked controversy on social media after launching a harsh critique against her compatriots who continue to support the Republican Party and President Donald Trump. In a video posted on TikTok, the woman held nothing back and even confessed that she feels "disgusted to be Cuban" upon seeing how some fellow countrymen, in her opinion, turn their backs on their own community.
The young woman made her political stance clear: "I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat, you know why? Because what I am is Cuban. I vote for a free Cuba, for a Cuba without dictatorship."
However, his words became more heated when he referred to the Cubans who continue to support the Republicans, especially in light of the immigration policies driven by the Trump administration.
"Every time I hear a Cuban voting for the Republicans right now, knowing everything that Donald Trump is doing to our race, to our people, I feel disgusted to be Cuban," she expressed, visibly upset.
The Cuban woman insisted that, for her, the issue goes far beyond political preferences and relates to solidarity among compatriots.
"It’s not about voting for a Republican or a Democrat; it’s about helping your race," he assured.
He also issued a warning to those who believe that having U.S. citizenship places them in a different situation than other immigrants: "Just because you are an American citizen doesn't make you American. They don't want you here either."
Far from softening his speech, he ended the video with another phrase full of indignation: "How much anger in my heart for all those compatriots who are unable to defend their fellow countrymen."
The post, which at the time of writing the news had nearly 28,000 views, almost 2,000 "likes," and over 250 comments, sparked reactions both in support of and against its statements.
Your message arrives at a time when Trump's immigration policies have sparked criticism even among Cubans who previously supported the president.
One of the most recent cases is that of Lisbeth Arzola Fadragas, a Cuban affiliated with the Republican Party and a former Trump voter who, at the end of October, publicly announced that she had voted for the Democratic Party.
Months earlier, another Cuban had also caught attention on social media by confessing that he regretted having secured six family votes for Trump. "I will never make that mistake again," he stated at the time.
Among the main reasons for discontent are the deportations of Cubans and the immigration restrictions enacted during the second term of the U.S. president, including the end of the humanitarian parole program.
However, the criticism of these measures does not necessarily indicate a widespread loss of electoral support for the Republican Party.
According to the FIU Cuba Poll 2026, published at the end of October, 68% of Cuban Americans surveyed in Miami-Dade expressed their intention to vote for Republican candidates in the midterm elections, while 53% of registered voters identified with that party.
The same survey, however, revealed that 76% disapproved of the increase in the deportation of Cubans without criminal records, a sentiment shared even by 63% of Republican respondents. Additionally, 87% supported the resumption of immigration benefits processing for Cubans already in the United States.
These differences between political support and opposition to certain immigration measures also appear in other testimonies from Cuban Americans who question Trump’s decisions, although they still view the Republican Party as an option to maintain pressure on the Cuban dictatorship.
