The event Expo Cubaneo Arizona 2026 has canceled the performance of the Cuban comedian Cuqui La Mora, which was scheduled for this Saturday in Phoenix, without providing any explanation regarding the reasons for the decision.
The official statement published on Instagram on Thursday by the organizers was brief: "We inform you that the show of Cuquita La Mora is canceled. However, Expo Cubaneo Arizona 2026 will continue as planned."
The site also clarified that Expo Cubaneo was created as a space for «unity, visibility, and promotion for businesses in Arizona to make themselves known, strengthening our community.»
The rest of the event—a fair for Cuban entrepreneurs with raffles, surprises, and free entry—will take place this Saturday from five to nine in the evening at Heritage Headquarters, located at 515 E Grant St in Phoenix.
The cancellation in Arizona is not an isolated incident. That same Thursday, a Cuban restaurant in Texas also canceled the artist's show scheduled for Sunday, November 8, in Odessa, citing business reasons and explicitly denying any political motivations.
In total, two of the three shows that Cuqui La Mora —the stage name of Aleanis Jáuregui— had scheduled for November were canceled on the same day, November 5th, just 48 hours after the U.S. midterm elections.

Days before the cancellations, the comedian published a video in which she expressed her excitement about having voted for the first time as a U.S. citizen and openly declared: "you have another Republican here."
On social media, supporters of the artist pointed out that Cuqui La Mora's Republican stance may have influenced the organizers' decisions.
A user on La Cubanita de Odessa replied to the question "Why so much hate?" with a straightforward statement: "Just because their vote was Republican."
Neither of the two organizers confirmed that version. Expo Cubaneo did not provide any reason, while La Cubanita insisted that it was "a business decision based on the evaluation of the conditions and the commercial viability of the presentation."
Cuqui La Mora, known for her anti-communist activism and her public support for Donald Trump, obtained U.S. citizenship in March 2025 and in October of that year, participated in a gathering of Cubans in front of the White House to demand concrete actions against the Cuban regime.
The Michigan show, scheduled for November 21, has not been reported as canceled at this time.
