Cuban state television has shown images of the devastation in Havana caused by the tornado this Sunday: neighbors walking among the rubble of houses, fallen trees and zinc roofs, which show the significant damage that the powerful organism has left on the Luyanó Causeway.

The destruction in the Cuban capital is also attested to by totally destroyed cars under the remains of homes and institutions that have not withstood the winds of more than 100 km/h of this meteorological event.

According to the magazine's presenter Good morning, "a newsstand was moved one hundred meters by the strong winds of the tornado." In the video you can see the kiosk from the side.

Many streets in the Cuban capital are full of fallen electricity poles, which continue to affect the electrical and telephone service.

At least three people died and another 172 were injured by this meteorological phenomenon that hit Havana this Sunday afternoon.

The tornado began to be felt around 8:45 at night in some Havana neighborhoods such as Santos Suárez, La Víbora, Luyanó, Regla, Guanabacoa and Habana del Este, according to Cuban state television and citizens on social networks.

The Institute of Meteorology predicted sea penetration due to a strong storm, which also affected part of south Florida, but never a catastrophe of such magnitude in Havana.

"It was as strong as that of Bejucal in 1940. I think it's an F4. Between three and four, but four is more possible," Cuban meteorologist Armando Caymares told the official media Cubadebate. The highest level that a tornado can reach, according to the improved Fujita scale, is F5. The EF4 level represents devastating damage that can affect both concrete and brick houses and wooden ones, as has happened in Havana.

So far there are no official figures of the material losses in the Cuban capital, but the damage includes hospitals and even churches.
