Ingredients
- 7 oranges
- 1 cup of sugar
- 4 heaping tablespoons of cornstarch
Instructions
Preparation:
Prepare the oranges:
- Wash the oranges and cut them in half.
- Using a juicer, carefully extract the juice without breaking the skin, as it will serve as a container for the custard.
- Using a spoon, remove the leftover pulp from the inside of the shells to leave them clean. Set the shells aside.
Prepare the juice:
- Strain the juice to remove any pulp remnants.
- Add the sugar to the strained juice. For every 4 cups of juice, use 1 cup of sugar. Mix well and set aside.
Dissolve the cornstarch:
Take a small amount of the juice and dilute 4 heaping tablespoons of cornstarch. Mix well until there are no lumps.
Cooking the mixture:
- In a medium pot, heat the juice over high heat until it begins to boil.
- Once it boils, add the juice mixture with cornstarch. Stir constantly until it thickens.
Serve and refrigerate:
- Fill the orange peels with the thick mixture.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours for the custard to set.
Presentation:
Decorate each orange "bowl" with a mint leaf or any aromatic herb of your choice.
Ready! A simple, elegant, and delicious dessert. Are you tempted to try it?
