This Monday, October 12, Havana enters phase three of reopening after the closure decreed in September due to the resurgence of coronavirus in the capital.
Although the protocol to be followed from now on is not completely public, at the Provincial Defense Council this Sunday, the authorities of the capital announced that one of the measures with the greatest impact will be the home admission of those patients who were contacts of confirmed cases and suspected of having the disease.
The Family Doctor will inform the contacts of confirmed cases of the PCR result on the fifth day of their admission to the home, explained the health authorities of Havana.
If it is negative, it continues to be admitted to the home until the tenth day and if it is positive it becomes a confirmed case and the established protocol is continued, they mentioned.
From now on, real-time PCR tests will be carried out in the homes of those people who are confined. The management of the health institution that controls the area must have the necessary resources and personnel. as well as the transportation to take the samples to the laboratories where they are analyzed.
The Havana authorities insisted that medical and health personnel in the communities must avoid negligence and visit patients every day, in order to control cases individually and prevent the disease from spreading.
Cuba will return to normal this Monday, except the capital and the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Ávila. The measure will give the green light to almost all territories to allow international flights to enter the airports of those territories, where established health protocols must be complied with.
Since the end of August, several airports have confirmed that they are ready to open to foreign tourism. The authorities confirmed that on August 15, Varadero was ready to receive foreign visitors.
