Two Cubans arrested for using high technology to steal vehicles in Miami-Dade

They, along with another young woman, face more than 60 charges related to car theft in Kendall.

Three young people, two of them of Cuban origin, were arrested and charged in total withmore than 60 positionsrelated to therobo of cars in Kendall, in Miami-Dade County.

The authorities have evidence that those involved used high technology to steal vehicles in a few seconds.

The detained Cubans areChristian DaSilva It is Ivan Sifonte, of 18 years; and Alyssa McFarlane, 23.

According to the arrest reports - cited by thelocal press- A man called police last Saturday morning to report that his car had been stolen with several items inside, including his Palm Beach County Fire Rescue equipment and aMacBook Air.

The computer was key because the victim was able to track it to a house inSouthwest 80th Drive, in the Kendall area.

After obtaining a search warrant for the home, Police found numerous evidence of vehicle thefts inside the residence.

Upon entering the house, they discovered three young people in possession of 58 car keys, control programming tools and signal interference devices, four license plates belonging to stolen vehicles, as well as a pistol magazine with six cartridges and registration documentation for aDodge Charger stolen.

Police also found two motorcycles with altered chassis numbers.

A neighbor interviewed byAmerica Camel He said that the young people had lived in that house for about four months and refused to believe that they were responsible for the robberies.

The three defendants face 58 counts of conspiracy to commit vehicle theft, in addition to two other charges of defacing or altering a vehicle identification mark.

They also face several additional charges, including in Sifonte's case six counts of possessing ammunition as a convicted felon.

Ivan Sifonte was free on bail on charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, vehicle theft and possession of a firearm, according to jail records.

The investigation into the case remains open.
