A shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Hollywood Beach, Broward, left nine people injured, four of them minors.
The incident happened before 7:00 pm next to the beach, in a restaurant area full of tourists enjoying the holiday.
Hollywood police spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi revealed that around 6:52 p.m. they received the first call about people who had been shot.
"Officers responded immediately. They found all nine victims with gunshot wounds. They immediately rendered aid and the victims were taken to Joe DiMaggio and Memorial Regional Hospital," he toldUnivision.
A video recorded by a security camera allows us to see people on the boulevard starting to run at the moment the shooting begins.
According to the report, the shooting was the result of an argument between two men, one of whom began shooting. Witnesses reported that there were at least seven shots fired.
Of the nine injured, four are minors between one and 17 years old. The five injured adults are between 25 and 65 years old.
"At this time there is one who is in surgery and the rest of the victims are stable at this time," the officer said.
Several videos taken at the scene before medical services arrived show the injured being helped by their families.
The authorities reported that there is one detainee.
Another suspect is being sought and captured. Police as a black man with dreadlocks wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and camouflage shorts.
