The Electrical Union (UNE) of Cuba did not predict blackouts for this Saturday after the service was not affected on Friday due to a deficit in generation capacity, although it was for other reasons.
According to the daily report shared on his wallFacebookOn Friday, from 9:06 pm and until 2:59 am (five hours and 53 minutes), there were blackouts in Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Havana and Mayabeque due to high transfers from Matanzas to the westernmost area due to a breakdown due to a broken protective cable on the 220 kV Cotorro-Matanzas line, at 6:59 pm.
This in turn was motivated by a storm and the departure of Energas Jaruco at 8:08 pm due to a breakdown at the Puerto Escondido compressor station, which also began with a storm.
"At this time, the Energas Jaruco machines are synchronized and work is being done to repair the 220kV line." adds the note.
This Saturday, the availability of the National Electroenergy System (SEN) at 7:00 am was 2814 MW and the demand was 2410 MW.
Regarding peak hours, an availability of 3072 MW and a maximum demand of 2950 MW is estimated, for a reserve of 122 MW.
For neither of the two schedules are any impacts on the service due to a deficit in generation capacity estimated.
At this time, one unit of the Felton thermoelectric plant is out of service due to a breakdown, and another block of the CTE Renté is under maintenance.
On Friday, the UNE predicted a day offew blackouts, with an impact of 46 MW due to generation deficit at peak time.
During the day, up to threeBlackouts interrupted the filming of an episode of the popular comedy showLive the story In the Habana.
The actor Luis Silva, characterized as Pánfilo, noted the incident with humor and irony in a video in which, illuminated by the flashlights of his colleagues' cell phones, he asked the "little companion" who turns on and off the light to decide if the blackout was real or not, to find out if they canceled the recording permanently.
"Here it is recorded... well, Vivir del Cuento was recorded. There have already been three blackouts today. The 'comrade' who is removing it and putting it in needs to make a decision," he said.
