The house where the young mother and her three youngest children live - one of them seven years old, with serious health problems - is in ruins and is about to collapse.

A young womanmother and her three youngest children, one of them with serious health problems, they live in extreme poverty in Santiago de Cuba and “his home is in ruins,” denounced the Cuban Observatory for Human Rights (OCDH).

“This mother of 3 children, one with serious health problems, is in a situation of precariousness and total desperation. “His home is in ruins, propped up, and about to collapse,” the organization revealed this Thursday in avideo uploaded to their social networks.

The images show a desolate scene: ashack with wooden plank walls in poor condition, many broken or missing in several parts; and with fragments of cans and other materials to cover some of the many holes it has.

The home - if it can be called that -It is propped up, leaning to one side and at risk of collapsing at any moment.

One of the girls, identified by the nameNayane, seven years old and blind, suffers from heart disease, growth retardation and malnutrition.

The reporter who documented the case inquired about the attention the mother receives from the government. The young woman acknowledged that social workers have visited her “to see the conditions in which they live.”

According to his testimony, the government has not resolved the problem with the house and has only given him a few items, among which he mentioned an induction cooking module and a mattress, which due to its precarious conditions, he had to take home. a neighbor

The woman - whose name was not revealed - receives a pension (checkbook) of 4,700 pesos for social assistance, an amount that is not enough to cover all the vital needs of her and her three children due to the high prices of food and other essential products in the country.

The deplorable conditions of the home where this family resides once again bring to the fore a recurring issue in Cuba: thehigh level of poverty among the most vulnerable people and the inability of the Cuban regime to guarantee a dignified life for the population.

The cases are made public thanks to complaints from non-governmental organizations, opposition parties, activists and independent reporters within Cuba. The situation of many of these families remains unresolved for years, despite the repeated requests for a solution to the government bodies in the territories where they are located and thecomplaints in independent media and social networks.
