A shooting shook the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami on Friday night, where street fights in the style of what neighbors called "the wild west" were reported.
"Tonight it's the Wild West in theLittle Havana"says a post on Twitter where a video of the incident was published.
In the footage you can see more than a dozen supposedly Cuban young men armed with bats, fighting with what appears to be a Central American gang carrying guns.
At one point one of the boys pulled out a gun and shot several times at the group carrying the bats.
"There are still some wild streets in Little Havana. Definitely gang activity. However, the neighborhood continues to gentrify. In 2 or 3 more years, rent will be as expensive as Brickell and all these people will have to move out of everything." ways," said an Internet user who commented on the publication.
Although Little Havana was initially populated by Cuban migrants who arrived in South Florida, they have currently moved to other neighborhoods in Miami and families from Central and South America have settled there, benefiting from less expensive rents. than those of the rest of Miami and the central location of the popular neighborhood full of Latin restaurants and businesses.
