The government of Pinar del Río reported that despite the restoration of fuel sales in the province, it does not guarantee public transportation or respond to the demand for diesel by individuals.
A note from that organization posted in Facebook points out that "the availability of diesel is insufficient even to cover the demand for prioritized activities of the economy and vital services such as passenger transportation."
He states that a command post in the Provincial Government meets daily in which the destination of the existing volumes is determined to guarantee benefits such as the distribution of the family basket.
Likewise, he said regarding the sale of fuel to owners of power plants and chainsaws that, for the moment, they must go to the headquarters of the Municipal Councils of Administration and request authorization from the mayor of each territory for the diesel purchase.
The note assures that the "normalization of urban and community routes will be one of the first actions to be carried out when the fuel for it is available."
On April 22, Pinar del Río announced the reestablishment of fuel sales to the population, with priority to the state sector.
The increase in gasoline volumes assigned to the province and the availability of this resource in several service centers make it possible to resume sales to the population, although with a clear priority for state sector vehicles, an official note detailed.
The territorial management of the Cimex corporation said that each vehicle will be able to load up to 40 liters of gasoline, as long as this amount does not exceed the capacity of the tank.
