They deny sanction to Renier González on Cuban Television: "He is resting"

Hernández Luján asked that there be no "second readings."

The Cuban sports journalist Carlos Hernandez Lujan he said during a recent broadcast of the program Live Ball that his colleague Renier González, protagonist of a heated controversy after leak audio in which he attacked players and fans of the National Series, he is simply resting at home and asked that there be no “second reading.”

“For all those who ask about our friend and colleague Renier González, he still does not feel personally ready to start working. He is resting at home. There is no second reading.", stated Hernández Luján in the presence of Guillermo Rodríguez Hidalgo and Duanys Hernández at the beginning of the program.

“He is simply resting at home and as soon as he feels ready to return to work, we are waiting for him here and of course on all the Tele Rebelde programming”, added the sports commentator, implicitly denying that González has been sanctioned and much less fired from what until now were his usual spaces on Cuban television.

“They say on TV why Renier González is not on Bola Viva and the rest of the sports programs and they deny a second version on the subject,” commentator Yasel Porto wrote on Facebook when echoing the fragment.

In the comments section of his publication, many Cubans were outraged by the way in which Cuban television tries to disguise and distort what they consider to be an open reality.

“You are stupid and you think we are stupid. In Cuba when it is said that 'he is resting' it is because he is thunderstruck, in pajamas or because he exploded. Don't lend yourself any more to euphemism or 'revolutionary' jargon.", one Internet user said angrily, criteria that several followed.

Others, however, took the opportunity to attack Renier and bring him back to the fore. the words that caused so much controversy and that They generated both support and strong criticism of the sports journalist.

“He is not 'resting'. He is rather 'ashamed' of everything he caused. It is obvious that he has the courage to make the decision to step away from the media a bit to give himself therapy for the very serious mistake he made... Hopefully this bank-therapy will help him reflect and not commit it again. "those errors of offending and blaspheming the national heritage that is baseball and not offending technicians, managers, trainers, players and fans," a fan attacked Renier.

"I'm sure that right now, let's not say 'depressed' because he seems to have a strong personality... but he must be sorry for everything he said," he added.

There were also those who insist on defending him tooth and nail and assure that he told nothing but the truth about the tremendous crisis and chaos in which Cuban baseball is suffering.

"He doesn't have to be ashamed because he told the truth. We just want to make firewood from the fallen tree. He is the best at narrating sports, he enjoys it and is very sincere," said someone in favor of Renier González.

It was last April 29 that the sports portal Swing Completo public a leaked audio that revealed the sports commentator's radical opinion about Cuban fans and baseball players, following one of the episodes of violence that has been experienced in the current National Baseball Series.

“People here seem to be afraid of the fans. What thing? Amateurs know a ball! They catch her on the weaker side. The Series is shit! "The players are badder than the referees!" he was heard saying in the shared recording.

The managers of the teams participating in the Series were not spared from their criticism either. “They send the third hitter to play the ball after the first and second hitter have reached base, and no one says shit! So what the f… are we talking about? A bunch of idiots is what they are!”

In a burst of sincerity, the sports commentator ranted against practically everything in current Cuban baseball, expressing his opinions in a direct and even hurtful manner against baseball players and fans.
