A Cuban man was arrested and sent to prison for multiple robberies at a Walgreens pharmacy in Hialeah.
Lázaro González, 32 years old, was identified as the author of a series of thefts at a Walgreens located at 770 West and 28th Street committed between April 9th and May 15th.
During those 37 days, goods valued at a total of 2,987.68 dollars were taken.
He was caught red-handed this week at the establishment itself, when workers discovered him and alerted the Police. The man resisted, so now he faces charges of resisting arrest in addition to the charges of shoplifting.
The police said that security cameras caught him hiding the items under his clothes and taking them from the store.
América TeVe showed the Cuban man's appearance in court, where Judge Mindy Glazer set a bond for him and imposed a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching the store at all.
González has a history of six other shoplifting charges and petty theft, and has always been released on bail. That's why he kept coming back to the same pharmacy over and over again.
A Walgreens lawyer appeared in court to request an increase in the amount of the bail, in order to prevent the thief from continuing to steal at that location.
