A fire breaks out near a water pumping point in Santiago de Cuba.

Apparently, they were burning grass and rubbish near the water tank, and the fire spread.

A fire occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the water pumping point located in the Pastorita neighborhood, in the city of Santiago de Cuba.

The independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada shared a video on his Facebook wall of the firefighters at the scene.

A resident in the area explained that "apparently they were burning grass and trash near the water tank and the rest started to catch on fire."

According to the witness, incredibly the firefighters arrived quickly at the scene, something that does not happen when it comes to a fire in a house or of great magnitude.

Fortunately, the firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before they spread, but some neighbors expressed their concern about the proximity to their homes and other facilities in the area such as the liquefied gas sales location.

"It has been extinguished, but it was a tremendous danger. This threatened to spread," said a young man.

"And near the gas station with a huge line, such a danger," a young woman stated.
