They say goodbye to a driver who died in a traffic accident on the National Highway.

The driver of the car that caught fire on the Villa Clara stretch of the National Highway was mourned by friends and neighbors on social media, who highlighted the unfortunate nature of this incident that has moved the municipality of Céspedes in Camagüey, where he resided.

"They are from here, from Céspedes, Camagüey, a very sad day and very dear people, may God keep them forever," wrote an internet user in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES for more experience and fewer victims!" where the information about this event was shared.

"My condolences. Sad news. A whole town in mourning. Excellent people, with very kind hearts," noted another internet user.

"Céspedes in mourning. Rest in peace friends, may God have them in His glory. Jorge Luis Marín, a hug to the heavens," said a user.

According to various comments, the driver of the crashed car was named Elder Fernández and was the father of twin girls.

"My great friend Elder, you have left a great void in me. May God have you in His holy glory and in a very special place because you were a great human being here on Earth," noted an internet user, apparently a close friend of the deceased.

Also, in sharing the news of the accident, Facebook user Yaleanni Areces expressed her condolences "to the family and friends, and especially to Elder, he was a great man, son, brother, and father."

This same internet user claimed that the driver was a very responsible person on the road. This opinion was shared by other commenters.

It was also reported that one of the deceased was named Maira and was remembered as "a great teacher" in the town.

In the accident, four people lost their lives, including a minor. Emotional words were dedicated to all those individuals on different social media platforms, including a Facebook post from CiberCuba.

The user Reynier S. Frómeta García detailed that the car was an Emgrand 718, which crashed into a bridge "and caught fire."

Although the causes that led to this event are not defined, many commentators blamed the poor condition of the road, driver fatigue, and other issues that have caused the loss of human lives on Cuban roads.
