In the wake of Hurricane Milton passing through Florida, a Cuban woman from Ocala went viral on TikTok as she shared her concern that the strong winds would wreak havoc on her fence and her avocado plant, turning the plant into one of the unexpected protagonists of these days on social media.
With over 11 million views, the video from @danayrealtor1991 in which she sends a message to Hurricane Milton went viral on TikTok. "I'm making this video for Hurricane Milton, listen to what I'm going to tell you. That fence you see there, I had to sell a kidney and an eye to pay for it. And that avocado tree, if you take that avocado tree away from me, I'm going to chase you all the way to the Pacific Ocean," said the Cuban in the viral video.
The Cuban continues her funny monologue, suggesting to the hurricane to take everything else from her yard: "Take the picnic table, the barbecue, and ultimately, even tear down my husband's shed. But the fence and the avocado tree, no. How are you going to come and tear that down now?" she said.
The video went viral, and since then, this Cuban has kept her followers updated about her avocado tree, even during the storm.
"The avocado tree is more viral than the hurricane Milton itself," "Everyone suffering because of the avocado tree," "Oh my god, here watching the avocado tree," "Betting on Dan and the avocado tree," or "From Madrid watching the avocado tree," they told Danay Izquierdo, who in one of her latest updates showed how her husband secured the tree to prevent it from being taken by the strong winds.
And finally, after the storm, the Cuban announced that the plant survived and mentioned that she has plans for it...
