Cuban mother hospitalized in Miami seeks help on social media: "It's a desperate situation."

A Cuban mother in Miami, with a chronic skin condition, is seeking help on social media after losing her job and facing financial difficulties. She is looking for support for medical and family expenses.

Jany, a Cuban mother in Miami, is facing a critical situation after spending six months bedridden and undergoing several surgeries in a hospital due to a chronic skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa.

This painful condition causes swollen bumps to develop in areas where the skin rubs together, such as the armpits and groin, severely affecting mobility and quality of life. Health complications have led to the loss of employment, leaving the family without a steady income during this prolonged period.

In addition, the savings have vanished because the medical expenses in these months have been substantial. Jany has undergone eight surgeries on her legs in less than a year.

The Cuban woman is the mother of two girls. Her family is facing challenges in paying for rent, essential services, and her daughters' education.

"I'm reaching out for help because we have a desperate situation with bills, rent, school payments, and more," Jany expressed in a video posted to the TikTok account Conducta (@conductadade).

"I've never done this before, asking for help on social media, but I'm desperate," she said, her voice breaking. Her words reflect the difficult decision to seek support from the virtual community amid the uncertainty her family is facing.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a disease that not only causes physical pain but can also have a significant emotional and psychological impact on those who suffer from it.

Being a chronic and progressive condition, flare-ups can occur multiple times, necessitating surgical interventions and prolonged treatments to reduce inflammation and prevent serious infections.

In Jany's case, these recurring outbreaks have affected her ability to lead a normal life, even impacting her ability to carry out everyday activities. In response to her call for help, several social media users have expressed their solidarity.

Those who wish to contribute can find her on TikTok under the username @janygaby, where she has been sharing her story in hopes of garnering the financial support needed to face the challenging days that lie ahead for her and her family.
